For over 35 years now, SELAM has been homing children, educating school students and trainees, and offering medical and economic support to local communities.

Zurzeit ist es 100 Familien nicht möglich für das Schulgeld der SELAM Wukro Schule aufzukommen, indem auch das Mittagessen inkludiert ist. Die betroffenen Kinder fehlen oft im Unterricht, sind unkonzentriert oder müde.

Mit dem Lunch-Projekt erhalten sie ein Schuljahr lang immer ein Mittagessen.

These are the principles that have guided the work of SELAM since 1986, with the aim of combatting poverty through education and support. On average, SELAM supports each child for nearly 20 years.

SELAM was founded over 35 years ago. But how did it all start and how is this Swiss organisation structured? Find out more about SELAM's history and the team in Switzerland, as well as how your donations are used.

The Swiss team consists of four employees and eight members of the governing board.

In 1986, Zahai Röschli – herself an orphan – opened the first SELAM children's village in Addis Ababa. A lot has happened since then.
