SELAM was founded over 35 years ago. But how did it all start and how is this Swiss organisation structured? Find out more about SELAM's history and the team in Switzerland, as well as how your donations are used.
The Swiss team consists of four employees and eight members of the governing board.
In 1986, Zahai Röschli – herself an orphan – opened the first SELAM children's village in Addis Ababa. A lot has happened since then.
We are certified by ZEWO, the foundation that sets standards for Switzerland's charity sector, and place great emphasis on making efficient use of our resources.
